The North Wind Stables Riding Academy Philosophy

North Wind Stables is dedicated to making your horseback riding experience satisfying, challenging, fun and safe. North Wind will tailor the right program for you as a beginner just starting out or an experienced rider seeking the highest levels of competition.

All North Wind Stables Riding Academy instruction is individualized and focuses on building strong teams-rider, horse and trainer. Whether you are riding one of North Wind's well-trained, safe lesson horses or your own performance or equitation horse, teamwork is our number one goal.

North Wind Stables teaches the fundamentals of good horseback riding that lead to success in the show ring or safety on a trail ride. The skills you learn will open the door to fully enjoying all of your horse activities wherever they may take you.

Youth Activities

Our youth club, The North Stars, is a member of the American Saddlebred Youth International Program and is open to all North Wind riders between the ages of 6 and 18. Being a member of The North Stars involves you in the total horse experience where you will learn about and participate in:

• caring for the whole horse-grooming, anatomy, first aid and nutrition

• caring for tack and other horse equipment

• exhibitions to teach others about the American Saddlebred

• other special activities and parties celebrating our love of horses

Private Lessons
These lessons include 1 instructor, 1 rider and approximately 30 minutes of riding time. $40

Semi-Private Lessons
These lessons include 1 instructor, 2 riders and approximately 30 minutes of riding time when available. $30

Group Lessons (provided on a limited basis)
Not to exceed 4 riders with 1 instruction and 45 minutes to an hour of riding time. $30

Horse Care Program
30 minutes of saddle time and 30 minutes of grooming. $40

Youth Group Program
Free to all students of North Wind’s Riding Academy with meetings to be announced.

Rescue Program
On a limited basis this consists of grooming and caring for horses in need. As horses are available riding may be involved. A portion of the lesson fee goes to Saddlebred Rescue Inc. a 501c3 non profit. Not all riders are eligible for this program. $50

Daily Package
Includes 1 instructor, 1 rider two lessons of approximately 30 minutes each and 1 practice ride. Includes rider grooming their own horses. $80

10 Lesson Package
You pay for 8 lessons in a 60 day period and receive 2 additional lessons in that 60 days. Must be prepaid. $320

Five Gaited Lessons
You must be evaluated by our instructors in previous lessons to qualify to take a five gaited lesson - $100

Show Horse Lesson
You must be evaluated by our instructors in previous lessons to qualify to take a show horse lesson - $175
