Chestnut half Arab, 20 years old

Amigo was purchased by North Wind Stables in 1998. After going through our lesson training process for several months he was put in our lesson program. Amigo has been a favorite of both students and teachers alike. Students can learn both english and western on him. Though he does not go to shows he is an important part of our show team training process, for it is Amigo that is used in our lunge lessons.

Amigo is famous at North Wind for the "Amigo dance" which he does while waiting to be ridden.

2. MC Jalita "Julie" | Arab |

Foaled 1985
Bay Mare

Julie came to us on a lease from Salem International University after my son Jason fell in love with her at school. She was used as a school horse for students to learn English on while taking equine classes. Jason rode her and taught her to go western as a winter project as he missed the ability to ride at home.

Julie is used in the lesson program as well as being a favorite for a practice horse with Nealia's training customers. The mare is best known for her smooth gaits especially the canter.

Everyone who rides Julie falls in love with her and she is often requested in lessons.

3. B. F. Magic O-Lee "Mikey" | American Saddlebred |

Dam Supreme Chablee

Mikey originally came to North Wind Stables from California in training. He stayed with us in training for a couple of years when the owners had a change in jobs and needed to sell him. He was purchased by Nealia for her son Jason to show as well as to be leased by customers to show. He has been shown successfully by numerous different customers both in the midwest and here on the east coast. He has shown successfully both English and western and has won numerous state and national awards.

A highlight of his career came in 2001 when he won a World Championship in Men's Western Pleasure at the St Louis National Charity Horse Show.

Mikey is currently being used as a practice horse for customers and lesson riders between his horse show appearances.

5. Chocolate Bon Bon "Bon Bon" | Morgan | photo: coming soon
Foaled 1982
Sire: Orcland Supreme Beau
Dam: Tanya

Bon Bon was purchased from Salem International University in the fall of 2001 where he had been in their English program for several years.

Bon Bon is used as an advanced lesson horse as well as available to lease for showing. Whether Bon Bon is used as a driving horse, where he won a reserve worlds championship, or under saddle he gives our students the feel of what it is like to ride or drive a big time show horse.

His latest venture has been as an advanced lunge lesson horse. This horse is very kind but really likes to work. You can't tell Bon Bon he is getting old as in his mind he is about 5.

6. Tropical Night "Topper" | American Saddlebred |

Foaled 1988
Sire: Grapetree's Spirit Command
Dam Delta's Lily

Topper was originally purchased as a two year old to be trained as a western horse. After a few months of training he was sold to a good friend of Nealia's and was shown very successfully in Missouri. As a five year old he was sent back to North Wind to be sold as a seasoned show horse. After campaigning with an older lady for several show seasons he was purchased by Nealia's future husband Mark McCracken. He was the first horse for his daughters Kate and Erin and they learned to ride and show on him. Under Nealia's training and guidance Topper and Kate won a World's Championship in the William Shatner Juvenile Western class.

As Mark's daughters began showing on a National level it was time to sell Toper. He sent to Indiana to trainer Cookie Ferguson where he was shown and used in her lesson program.

It was during this time Mark and Nealia got married and the couple always kept a picture of Topper close by as a reminder of how they met.

In the late summer of 2002 with older school horse "Ozzie" starting to really show his age Mark and Nealia called Cookie and arranged to purchase Topper once again. This will be his last home as he has become a favorite of all the kids in the barn.

Interestingly one of the things Kate and Erin enjoyed doing with Topper was brushing and giving him a bath. The kids in the barn now also are always asking if they can brush Topper or give him a bath.

7. The Frosted Rose "Nina" | American Saddlebred |

Foaled 1986
Sire: Rose's Masterpiece
Dam Admiral's Red Fern

Nina was purchased as a four year old by customer Marly Garman. The mare was shown one season in the English division and driving before she was trained western. Nina and Marly showed to great success in this division and finished their first year western by winning a national title. The following season she was sold to Ann Marie Mielke to be used as an equitation horse. This team won the coveted gold medal in the Pleasure Olympics.

Later Nealia was on the hunt for a guaranteed safe horse for her daughter Jessica who was starting her show career in the walk and trot only division. Jessie showed Nina during her five and six year old years. While Jessie was not the top rider on the show circuit she was definitely the safest.
When Jessie out grew Nina the mare was put in our lesson program. Nina has been used as a beginner school horse ever since. She did take time out to have a foal "The Prince of Egypt".

Nina is one of the favorites for our younger riders and drivers.
