Back from the UPHA Conference

I went with Nealia to the conference in New Orleans as a rep of Saddlebred Rescue.  It was cold to say the least but this year’s conference was so good we attended about every round table and meeting there was.  On the side I did pick up the banner for the awarded Children’s Benefit Horse that I helped manage last year.  This year I agreed to do the show again but formally as the Show Manager.  Anyway back to the conference.  The UPHA had speakers that were marketing experts for equine businesses as well as experts on internet sale tools.  It was excellent!  We have many ideas and projects that will benefit not only Saddlebred Rescue, but Nealia’s business and the shows that I will be managing in 2010.

I also got my limit of local seafood and other dishes.  Nealia stuck to more middle of the road cuisine—her loss.

Saddlebred Rescue was not on the agenda this year but we hope to have a presence at next year’s meeting in Boston.  One our current board members, Nancy Trent, was awarded by the UPHA as the leading Associate Member of the Year Award.  Congrats to her.
